Westhill Teachers must:
- Be able to maintain a classroom environment that ensures effective learning• analyze and use data to best incorporate the needs of all students within their lessons and classroom environment.
- Communicate with students in a manner that enhances student learning and understanding.
- Incorporate IB skills and Common Core Standards when writing and implementing lesson plans.
- Be able to work productively through collaborative interactions with colleagues, parents and community members.
- Demonstrate willingness to examine and implement change as appropriate
- Have experience teaching across a breadth of learning abilities, including ESL students.
- Spanish is NOT REQUIRED.
- Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with state/province/national teaching certificate
- If teacher preparation and degree are from Mexico: Licenciatura in education and/or pedagogy from a SEP/UNAM-appoved institution with certification (cédula profesional, CENEVAL).
Preferable for the positions:
- Common Core Experience.
Qualification and previous experience required:
- Two years of successful teaching experience.
- Teacher Certification.

DP Math Teacher

As a DP Math Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students through the challenging yet rewarding Diploma Programme mathematics curriculum.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced **DP Math Teacher** to teach students in the Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, a thorough understanding of the IB philosophy, and the ability to engage and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation and/or Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches at the Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).
- Develop, plan, and deliver lessons aligned with the IB curriculum and the school’s academic standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and excel in mathematics.
- Assess student progress using IB assessment criteria, provide constructive feedback, and guide students in preparing for their Internal Assessments and IB exams.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and integration of other subject areas.
- Communicate effectively about student progress and well-being.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities or after-school programs as part of the school’s broader mission to develop well-rounded learners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- IB DP Math teaching experience (at least 2 years preferred).
- A valid teaching certification/license.
- Strong understanding of the IB Diploma Programme curriculum and assessment standards.
- Experience in using technology to enhance learning and support differentiated instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to fostering a caring and inclusive learning environment.
- Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and international education.
- Experience in integrating real-world applications of mathematics into the classroom.
- Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Westhill Institute está contratando un Profesor de Educación Física para Secundaria para desarrollar y entregar un currículo dinámico que promueva la condición física, el trabajo en equipo y un estilo de vida saludable. El rol implica enseñar una variedad de actividades físicas, crear un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo e inclusivo, y colaborar con colegas para organizar eventos deportivos y actividades extracurriculares en toda la escuela.
Responsabilidades clave:
- Planificar e implementar un currículo de Educación Física atractivo para los estudiantes de secundaria.
- Evaluar el progreso de los estudiantes y promover la condición física y el bienestar.
- Mantener la gestión del aula y fomentar el trabajo en equipo y el espíritu deportivo.
- Colaborar con colegas y apoyar programas deportivos después del horario escolar.
Calificaciones:
- Licenciatura en Educación Física.
- Certificación docente válida o elegibilidad para obtenerla.
- Se prefiere experiencia previa enseñando a estudiantes de secundaria y entrenando.
- Conocimientos básicos de inglés (preferido, pero no obligatorio).
