A message from our Academic Director…
Greetings,
My name is Ktyall Malik, and I am honored to serve as the Academic Director at Westhill Institute. Originally from Washington, D.C., I hold a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction and am an IBEN (International Baccalaureate Educator Network) workshop facilitator, contributing to the global IB community by sharing best practices and innovative teaching methodologies.
At Westhill Institute, I am entrusted with the oversight of curriculum, instruction, and accreditations. Our inclusive school community proudly comprises students from over 40 nationalities and teachers from more than 20 countries. This rich diversity enhances our learning environment, fostering global citizenship and intercultural understanding.
Westhill Institute is renowned for its academic excellence and vanguard approach to education. As a full-continuum IB school authorized since 2013, we offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). We embrace the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), ensuring that all students have equitable access to the curriculum.
Our curriculum is both vertically and horizontally aligned, incorporating local and international standards to set our students up for success. We are committed to continuous improvement through a data-driven approach, utilizing formal observation and teacher expectation data to enhance our programs. Additionally, we use MAP testing to track student growth and tailor instruction to meet their unique needs.
Westhill Institute has earned recognition for our commitment to English proficiency and second language development, ensuring our students are well-prepared to communicate in multiple languages on the global scene.
