IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Westhill, Santa Fe Primary is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Primary Years Program (PYP). The PYP begins in Kinder and continues through grade five. Students and teachers design units of inquiry around six transdisciplinary themes. These units align in order to create the school’s Program of Inquiry (POI). The POI is a concept-based curriculum designed for students to develop independence in learning, 21st century skills, and international-mindedness through the IB Learner Profile
IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Westhill is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We offer the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) for grades 6-10 and the IB Diploma Program (DP) for grades 11-12. The MYP fosters critical thinking and problem solving through an interdisciplinary approach using six global contexts. In their final year, MYP students complete a Personal Project, allowing them to consolidate learning and develop essential skills for future education and life. This project also helps build confidence for lifelong learning.
IB Diploma Programme (PYP)
The DP is a two-year pre-university program that aims to integrate rich content knowledge with sophisticated problem-solving skills. IB Diploma Program students are not reluctant to tackle difficult tasks with an eye to success. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking and research skills that are highly valued in higher education and beyond. Students in the Diploma Program are eligible to take a series of evaluations at the end of grade 12, which may result in students being awarded the prestigious IB Diploma.
